Second weddings are just as important as your first one!
Today's trends in bridal gowns are all about you and what you feel most comfortable with. Plus brides are some more confident when they are getting married for the second time but also will be much more in control about their wedding than they were at their first one - often of because they will be paying for it rather their parents.
Therefore your wedding and wedding dress should reflect that you are now more confident, comfortable with yourself and know your personal style combined with fashion sense.
When shopping for that perfect dress it helps to know the following things:
- Your dominant colour - most likely it has changed since you got married the first time.
- Your body shape - did it change? You want to be sure to highlight your best features and downplays the areas you are not so happy with
If you haven't been married before but your partner has, there's no reason why you shouldn't wear a traditional white gown, but keep in mind that your wedding such as dress, style, theme and location is not even close to his previous one in comparison.
- If you have been married before, you might feel that you don't want to wear a traditional gown and would perhaps try something simpler or different such as choosing a coloured wedding dress or a more contemporary style or choose a coloured dress, a suit, or a light fabric dress that's perfect for the beach if you're escaping to sunnier climes.
- Keep in might it needs to be as well appropriate with your age, but also when including kids into the wedding. Kids are not always comfortable seeing their mother most of the times in a traditional white, but more in something different especially when you had already the big white.
- It's also wise to avoid anything similar to your first wedding -- whether it's the big white dress, venue, cake decoration or the flowers in your bouquet. You don't want anyone to start drawing comparisons.
- Bridesmaids - in your second wedding the age gap might bigger than at your first one, keep this in mind when choosing your bridesmaids outfit. It is worth doing an online brides and bridesmaids colour analysis to be sure which colours your bridesmaids have in common and which of those are best colour coordinated with your wedding gown.
